I haven’t really made it a secret that my newest crafty obsession is definitely alcohol ink. Ever since I discovered it, I have tried out so many techniques using it and I absolutely love the results. Here are some of my favorite techniques that I can’t wait to try.
This is one of my favorite crafts I’ve made with alcohol inks. I love the sort of imperfect frame around the mirror that the inks created and the colors kind of remind me of a globe. You could definitely give this more of a watercolor feel with more blending solution and less ink.
Serve up a cooling summer salad on a fun watercolor plate you can make in no time. These plates are just as fun to make as they are to eat off of. I was very sad when I finished all 4 of mine, I wanted to keep experimenting!
I’ve always really liked the idea of having a mirror right next to the front door to check yourself before you head out for the day. The best place for a mirror like this in my home is right across from the front door, and basically the first place you look when you walk in. This means that I would have to put in a statement piece that I really love and will make me smile when I come home.
With fall coming quick, it’s time for me to curl up under a blanket with a good book or knitting project and I can’t forget a cup of my favorite tea. Around this time of year, I can never have too many mugs since I’m almost never seen without a cup of some form of hot liquid in my hand.
I loved the look of Lacey’s key hooks created with alcohol ink. I thought they looked a lot like a really gorgeous granite countertop. I loved the idea that you could use alcohol ink to create something that looked like it had been “dipped” in stone. And so the idea for this mug was born.

I am notoriously bad at remembering my keys. In the past few weeks I have locked myself out of my apartment twice and my car once. This fact is proven by the bent screen that is sitting in my kitchen right now from where my boyfriend broke into the apartment to save us from being locked out for hours. So not only are these key hooks necessary to keep me organized, they were also a great excuse to play with a new medium I haven’t used before, alcohol ink. These key hooks were surprisingly easy to make, though I did encounter some bumps along the way.
