I could almost say that the entire move “The Lion In Winter” is my favorite quote, and Katherine Hepburn as Eleanor is magnificent.. Here are some examples:

Henry II : The day those stout hearts band together is the day that pigs get wings.
Eleanor of Aquitaine : There’ll be pork in the treetops come morning.

    Alais : Henry isn’t here.
Eleanor of Aquitaine : Good, we can talk behind his back.

    John : A knife! He’s got a knife!
Eleanor of Aquitaine : Of course he has a knife, he always has a knife, we all have knives! It’s 1183 and we’re barbarians!

Eleanor of Aquitaine : What would you have me do? Give out? Give up? Give in?
Henry II : Give me a little peace.
Eleanor of Aquitaine : A little? Why so modest? How about eternal peace? Now there’s a thought.

“No Patrick, the lid.” Not a movie because in this house we only watch kids tv shows. But this is from SpongeBob and the kids tell me that quote all the time I want them to do something. So for right now it has to be my favorite quote

  4. Denise Bryant

From You’ve Got Mail: “But there is the dream of someone else.” ……and also…. “I love daisies. They’re so friendly. Don’t you think they are the friendliest flower?”

  5. Donna Wertz

“Maria, these walls were not meant to shut out problems. You have to face them. You have to live the life you were born to live.”
    —Mother Abbess (Peggy Wood)

From Peter Pan, ” All it takes is faith and trust” I always loved Disney’s Peter Pan.

  7. Marissa M.

Since today is The Ocho on ESPN2(8), I think the most appropriate one is “It’s a bold strategy Cotton. Let’s see if it pays off for ’em.”

  8. Lynne Q

“Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it.”
From Anne of Green Gables (however I prefer the books!)

“Our lives are not fully lived if we’re not willing to die for those we love, for what we believe.” Selma Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

“Dogs and cats living together.” From Ghostbusters (the original). Thanks for the fun question & the opportunity to win

“Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get”. ~~~Forrest Gump~~~

Anything from Ghostbusters. I had that movie memorized in college. We would write line quotes on a blackboard at work to see who could outdo the others.
“He slimed me. I feel so funky… Spengler! I’m with Venkman! He got slimed!… That’s great, Ray! Save some for me!”
“Human sacrifice! Dogs and cats, living together! Mass hysteria!”

Stella got it right -” you never know what you’re going to get”. especially true in this day & age when it seems the world is heading towards crazy, & crafting keeps life calm & sane.

My favorite movie quote is from the 1965 movie, Cat Ballou. The very old man, supposedly Sundance Kid, of the Hole in the Wall Gang, was wanting to borrow a bullet and tried to remind them of who he was. Unfortunately, he couldn’t remember his own name, so he said, “Hey, Kid, you remember me: Old … Old …” (It was funny back then, and is still funny today, even though I now have a personal understanding of just how he felt.)

Mawage. Mawage is wot bwings us togeder today. The Princess Bride. Makes me laugh every time I think of it.

“Um, he’s sick. My best friend’s sister’s boyfriend’s brother’s girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who’s going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it’s pretty serious.”
    Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

  17. Cath T

“Carpe diem. Seize the day, boys. Make your lives extraordinary.” I like the positivity of this quote. Anyway, this device looks so cool, I had to track down a video showing how it works. Looks like grand fun! I could make a Carpe diem banner.

  18. Dianne G.

My favorite quote is from Bambi and it has run through my head many times in the past when I have negatively reacted to something and instead I walk away or bite my tongue. “If You Can’t Say Something Nice, Don’t Say Anything at All.”

  19. Cheryl

Was just talking about this one tonight. John Wayne in McLintock: I’m not gonna hit ya! I’m not gonna hit ya! …. The Hell I’m NOT! (next is the movie sound of fist popping someone in the jaw)

“The truth is I gave my heart away a long time ago, my whole heart, and I never really got it back.” …Sweet Home Alabama
