Summer fun is perfectly captured in this mini felt pinwheel. It makes a great fridge magnet, barrette, or decoration on a gift or card. Choose colours inspired by your favourite summer flowers or fruits!
Here’s What You Need:
- Two coordinating colours of felt
- Embroidery floss or thread and needle
- Button or bead for centre
- Magnet (or barrette, etc.)
- Hot glue gun & glue sticks (optional)
Cut two identical squares out of the felt.
From all four corners, cut diagonal lines into the centre of each square. Be careful not to cut all the way through, there should still be a centre part of the square uncut.
Lay the two squares on top of each other, and fold the felt (both layers at the same time) from each corner to the centre to make the pinwheel shape. Secure one fold at a time with sewing or hot glue.
Attach a button, bead, or sequin to the middle of the pinwheel with sewing or glue. Depending on how you want to use the pinwheel, you can now attach it to a magnet, barrette, card, or a small stick to decorate a planter, etc.
Now you have a classic pinwheel, so fun to look at, but simple to make!
