This charming flock of barrettes is the perfect gift for the little hairstylist or butterfly-lover in your life! They are a great way to use up scarp felt, and choosing the coordinating colours is one of the best parts!
Here’s What You Need:
- Felt in various colours
- Embroidery floss or thread and needle
- Mini barrettes
- Hot glue gun & glue sticks (optional)
Choose a few coordinating felt colours. You could also make a flock of butterflies in the same colours. Fold a small piece of felt in half, and cut a butterfly wing shape: large and more pointed on the top, smaller and cured on the bottom. Use your barrette as a size guide. Unfold the butterfly and make any desired adjustments for the perfect shape.
Cut out more butterflies, then attach them to mini barrettes. You can glue them, but adding a few sewn stitches makes the barrettes extra secure.
Tadaa! A delightful, summertime touch for the tresses, and a gift sure to warrant squeals of delight.

i think i will make a bunch of these for my grand daughters – they love their hair clips.
