A bookmark is a great way to practice a new watercolour design, and these swirly roses are as charming as it gets!

Here’s What You Need:
Cut a rectangle out of the paper. Use your favourite books as a guide for the size. Using pale, watery pink, paint several loose swirls spread out over the paper. An odd number of flowers looks best.
When the paint is still wet, dab some medium pink onto the swirls for shading. Once this has dried, go over the roses again with a darker pink. It also looks pretty to add some yellow into the rose.
Paint stems flowing from the base of each rose. Add leaves onto the stems by making single strokes with a thicker brush. Extra leaves in between the roses fills out the bookmark nicely.
A lovely touch of nature for your favourite book and the perfect gift for any avid reader and flower lover!
