Beautiful Christmas scenes from the “Days of Yore” make such pretty card fronts. Tim Holtz has a gorgeous stamp set called Scenic Holiday that is just perfect for this kind of project. I’ll show you both a modern and vintage way I used the set. First, the vintage:
To create the look of a frosted window you are looking out of, I blended some Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink onto the front of a white card stock panel.
I then spritzed the edges with some shimmer spray in Frost from Imagine Crafts.
Using my Precision Press and black ink, I stamped one of the snowy scenes along with a sentiment onto the blue inked front.
I then adhered the panel to the front of a notecard made from some Kraft card stock. Simple and easy!
For a more festive and modern look, I heat embossed a couple of the card outlines from the set onto green and red card stock using white embossing powder. I trimmed them out and set them aside to assemble later.
For a bold sentiment, I die cut Merry Christmas from Tim Holtz’ Christmas Ribbon set 3 times and adhered the pieces together with some liquid glue.
I assembled the pieces on to another Kraft note card and added a sentiment from the stamp set to the inside. Again, super easy! The bright red and green background is perfect for that bold Merry Christmas.
Thanks so much for joining me today. I Hope your holiday crafting has gotten off to a great start!
