I recently discovered one of those fun paper crafting tools that I didn’t know I needed.  It’s called the Totally Tiffany Heat Embossing Station, and it’s a huge help when you are embossing large backgrounds like on my project today.

It doesn’t take up much space, but it has a spot for my heat gun, a wooden board to secure my project so I don’t burn my fingers and a great side container for extra supplies.

For my project today, I used the Fretwork background stamp from Spellbinders.  I love a formal design like this for thank you cards.  It looks so elegant especially with metallic embossing powder.

Before stamping my image, I tapped a Magic Powder bag over a panel of white card stock.  This prevents embossing powder from sticking to places other than where the image is stamped.  I then, inked my stamp with VersaMark Dazzle ink.  I’ve been using this a lot more lately.  It’s like regular VersaMark, but has a little bit of shimmer.  I like it because it shows up on card stock a little better so you can see if you missed any spots.

For a rubber stamp like this one, it’s always good to use some kind of stamp platform to ensure you get a crisp image.

After stamping, I added some gold embossing powder and heat embossed my card panel.  I love how the embossing station has this board and clip you can use to heat all parts of your project easily without your hands getting in the way.

It’s a little difficult to see, but I attached my card panel to a notecard I made from some frosted silver card stock.  I trimmed the panel down a bit so the silver border would peek through.  A sentiment from Avery Elle’s Floating Wishes stamp set heat embossed in black on a vellum strip finishes off the card.  Attaching the vellum to some aqua card stock adds a nice pop of color against the gold.

If you heat emboss a lot, the Totally Tiffany Heat Embossing station is really handy to keep your heat gun, etc. all in one spot.  This makes it easy to keep a lot of pretty heat embossed backgrounds on hand for quick cards.

Thanks for joining me today!
