A floral border is the perfect accent to a cheerful card. Heat embossing makes it super easy to color and stay in in lines too 😊.
For this project, I used a stamp set from Avery Elle called Floral Notes and heat embossed it using Versamark Ink along with black embossing powder. I like this stamp set because of it’s rectangular shape. It fits perfectly around a sentiment to really make it stand out.
To add color, I used a variety of Zig Clean Color brush pens with just a little bit of water to give a “washed” water color look to the blooms.
I adhered a mat of bright green and white striped paper from the Photo Play Confetti Scrapbook collection to the front of a white note card. This added even more fun color along with a place for my flowers to border.
Don’t forget about your scrapbook kits—they include many great papers and accents you can use on cards. A great way to stretch your supplies!
After adding the flowers around the patterned paper with some foam tape, I added a heat embossed sentiment from the stamp set to the bottom. Nuvo drops in Ripened Pumpkin added some nice texture, color, and shine.
This set can be used with or without the die set to create beautiful floral borders.
Thanks so much for joining me today!
