Create a whimsical fall pumpkin for your autumn home with this easy tutorial.
Here’s what you’ll need to make your own:
- 2 packages of Ball Jar Lid/Band Wide Mouth Silver 12 pc
- Orange Spray Paint
- Darice Paddle Wire 22 Gauge Green 110 ft.
- Darice Cinnamon Sticks 2.75 in. 18 pc
- Wire cutters
- Hot glue gun & glue sticks
To begin, count out 18 jar rings, and spray paint them your color of choice. Let dry.
Cut a 12-inch length of wire, and string your jar lids onto the wire all facing the same direction–they will nest together this way.
Draw the wire ends together to gather the rings, twist to tighten, and then pass the ends around the middle a couple of times to secure, twisting the ends to secure. Cut excess wire.
Carefully move the rings apart to form the pumpkin shape.
Insert a cinnamon stick stem into the center of your pumpkin, and use hot glue to secure it in place.
Wrap raffia around the base of the stem, tying it off, and gluing to secure as needed.
Bend your wire lights into a loose spring shape.
Carefully spread apart a couple of the rings, and feed the light spring into your pumpkin, circling the center. Push the battery pack in, and then close the rings back together.
Try using different sizes of jar rings, use more or fewer rings, various colors, and make yourself a whole pumpkin patch for fall!
