Primary colors and positive vibes are the theme for today’s bright and cheerful card project.

I used Avery Elle’s Ray Die Elle-Ments background die and some ink blending and masking to create some fun stripes.

I like this die, because you can use it in the traditional way—a sunshine scene—or you can kind of use the “rays” to draw your eye in to a meaningful sentiment which is what I did today.

For my inks I used Distress Oxide in Lucky Clover, Carved Pumpkin and Salty Ocean.  Later, I decided to add Squeezed Lemonade for some brightness.

For the stripes, I masked off the area using Post-It Tape and blended the ink in between the pieces of tape.

For the next stripe, I covered the previous stripe and added another piece of tape leaving a space where I added more ink blending.

The masking is so easy and you get those great, crisp lines!

To finish the card, I adhered the ray panel to the front of a white notecard with foam tape.  I then blended more Salty Ocean onto the circle that pops out of the die and added that to the circle opening with foam tape.

I trimmed out a sentiment from Avery Elle’s So Kind stamp set and added that to the top of the circle.  For this card, I used mainly primary colors, but there are so many options—you could have a lot of fun trying different color combinations with a color wheel.

Thanks so much for joining me today!
