Do you like recycled activities? They’re awesome because you get to put something to good use before tossing it away, like paper rolls! Paper rolls are so versatile and can be used for many different fun crafts and activities. Like this Paper Roll Caterpillar, an adorable summer recycled crafts kids will love!
- Paper rolls
- Washable kids paint
- Paint brush
- Cardstock or chipboard (any neutral color)
- Craft scissors
- Pipe cleaners (chenille stems)
- Colored permanent markers
Using the scissors, cut the paper rolls into 1″-1.5″ tubes. Make about 4-6 tubes.
Paint each tube using different colors with washable kids paint and let dry.
Once dry, glue the painted tubes onto the cardstock making the first tube slightly higher than the others.
Now, using the first tube as the “head”, draw eyes and a smile. Cut the pipe cleaners into 3″ long pieces and glue to the inside of the first tube. You can add some grass, sun, clouds, etc. by using the colored permanent markers. This Paper Roll Caterpillar is a great summer craft kids will enjoy making – plus kids are learning creativity, fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination all in one activity!
