Summertime is coming soon along with lots of ice cream and popsicles. For today’s project, I grabbed my shimmery watercolors and some cute popsicle dies for a sherbet-y romantic greeting.
To start, I die cut a bunch of popsicles from the Sizzix Sweet Treats die and embossing set. I cut some in kraft card stock just for the little wooden sticks.
Using my Kuretake Pearl watercolors, I painted the tops of the white popsicles using orange, green, coral and yellow.
After trimming off the white sticks, I adhered the colored popsicle tops over the kraft popsicles using some Tombow Aqua glue. I attached four of them together in an offset line using glue dots.
I added some watercolor “swashes” down the center of a white notecard to back my popsicles.
I then added my popsicle cluster on top of the card using some foam squares.
I added a sentiment from Fiskars’ Life Is Sweet set along with some Nuvo Jewel drops in Strawberry Coulis to complete the card.
The shimmery watercolors are the perfect complement to the popsicles! Thanks so much for joining me today.
