One clean and simple card technique I really enjoy is the look of tone on tone white.  When you have a die cut with some intricate designs, it looks very elegant with just a few small color additions.

For today’s project, I’m using a card creator die from Spellbinders.  This particular one is not available currently in the store but you can find similar ones HERE.  They’re basically a border die that cuts into the cardstock.

I trimmed off the edges to create a border to pop up on the front of my card.

I wanted a little bit of color to peek through the opening of the border, so I cut a strip of patterned paper from Doodlebug’s Spring Thing 6×6 paper pad.

I adhered the paper behind the border and added the piece to the front of an A2 size notecard with foam tape.  For the sentiment, I used the Sizzix Clear Spring Phrases stamp set along with Bahama Blue pigment ink and heat embossed it with clear powder.

I liked all the little bits of color, but thought the die cut needed just a little more, so I added a few Nuvo Drops.

Just enough Nuvo Drops completes the card.  Super clean and simple, but sometimes that’s all you need to celebrate a new season!

Thanks for joining me today.
