Easter is just around the corner and along with the baskets and pretty flower arrangements, it’s always nice to include a card.  I’m creating a springtime scene today using a die from Sizzix called Bunny Scene.

I love how it’s an all in one piece that you can add color to or just leave white as a silhouette.  For my project today, I added color with Distress Oxide ink creating a soft look that is perfect for spring.

I started with the brightest colors on the flowers blending Picked Raspberry with a small cotton makeup applicator you can get at any drug store.  The pointed tip makes it easy to get into small areas.

From there, I blended Mowed Lawn, Antique Linen and Walnut Stain to the trees, leaves, grass and rabbits using a combination of the makeup applicators and small sponge daubers.  I added a small piece of brown cardstock behind the rabbits’ eyes to give them some color.

I blended some Squeezed Lemonade onto the little die cut butterflies to scatter them over the Easter scene.

Before popping up my scene using foam tape on the front of a white notecard, I blended some Tumbled Glass over the background.  A sentiment from Sizzix’ Spring Phrases finishes the card.

The soft colors of the ink blending give a calm and serene look to this card.

Thanks so much for joining me today!
