A cozy fall scene makes the perfect focal point on a greeting card. For today’s project, I was inspired by the little house tag in Carta Bella’s Fall Break ephemera pack and wanted that to be a part of my card. Since I was not doing any stamping, I wanted to add a stenciled layer and a leaf layer for the tag to rest on.
I used a stencil from The Crafter’s Workshop called Valentina Doodle Bloom and blended some Evergreen Bough Distress Ink over the top onto a kraft colored card panel. I wanted the stencil to look like leaves peeking out from under the tag.
I adhered the stenciled panel to a white card base using my Xyron Creative Station. This puts adhesive edge to edge and over the entire back of the panel. Great when you really want something to stay put.
I added my little house tag using some foam squares just in the middle of the back of the piece. This would make it possible to tuck in my die cut leaves into the sides of the tag.
For the sentiment, I trimmed off the “Autumn is Calling” from an ephemera piece in the Fall Break pack.
I adhered this to the bottom of my tag with some foam squares and then tucked in a few die cut leaves from the Cutter Bee Leaves die set. I liked the card, but then felt like it needed something else…….
I ended up adding a small strip of checked washi tape underneath the sentiment. I like the card so much better with this! The washi tape grounds the sentiment as well as balances out the card diagonally.
I love the layered look of this card. It gives such a cozy feeling especially with the cute little house scene. Thanks so much for joining me today. I hope I have inspired you to get out your fall themed scrapbook paper and ephemera and try out some fun fall greetings.
