Foiling is such a fun way to add elegance to your card designs.  For today’s project I decided to add some golden glam to this Sizzix Framelits Card Drop In Thank You die.  The great thing about this die is it pretty much does all the work for you.  You just add the special touches.  I’ll be using some gold foil along with some vellum and iCraft Deco Foil Adhesive Foam.

I first took the main card base die and lined up the two edges to run through my die cut machine.

You’ll need the Extended Cutting Pad if you’re using the Sizzix Machine as this is a very long die.  I used a heavier weight vellum cut to the size of the die and ran it through my machine to create my main card base.  You’ll notice a little bit of the die is sticking out, but that’s o.k. as long as the actual cutting part of the die is on the vellum.

After the card base was cut, I die cut the heart panel face down onto the piece of adhesive foam.  Be sure to use a metal shim or extra card stock layer in your die cut machine for this so everything cuts out the first time.

After cutting out the foam, I punched out all the pieces with the help of my non-stick scissors.  The extra foam adhesive hearts are great to use for other projects.

I then peeled away the backing on the foam piece and adhered it to the front of the vellum card base.

After that, I peeled the front backing off the foam and added a piece of gold Deco Foil over the top burnishing it with a bone folder.

Peel away the foil for instant glimmer.  If any foil missed parts of the foam, just cover that part again with the foil sheet and burnish it.

For the inside of the card, I added some linen cardstock and a sentiment from Ranger.  I also added foil to some of the extra foam hearts to decorate.

For the front of the card, I die cut the “Thank You” in more of the heavy vellum and added that with some Tombow tape runner.

This card would look great using other colors of foil as well.  You could even cut out the “Thank You” in foam and add foil to that.  Thanks so much for joining me today!
