Question of the week: What was the best thing that happened to you this past week?

This was a very special week as I got to spend time with my Sister. We had lunch together with our parish priest and recalled our Catholic school days. Our Parish is celebrating 175 years of Catholic Education and we were both a part of that history.
I also made a very special meal for our Grandson whose 17th birthday we celebrated. There was nothing better than the look in his eyes when he said “Thank You”.
Our Grand-daughter had a concert that we attended and listened to the beautiful voices and the songs they will be preforming for large group contest.
All in all any time we can spend time with Grandchildren or Family is very important and a time to be remembered.
The best thing this past week is that the weather has finally changed, It is warm and sunny and I will be spending the weekend in the garden.
My washing machine was fixed!
I had some cash left from a community-wide yard sale two weekends ago and I treated myself to getting 5 watches re-charged with replacement batteries at a local shop – I feel like I just got 5 new watches!
We left home in our travel trailer for a month long trip! Road trip!
The best thing that happened this week was that my mother got to come home from the hospital. She had a scary health problem but is now home with us and doing great!
Our daughter just had our first grandchild!
I had an awesome week. My oldest grandson just turned 12 and he spent the night with us the night before his b’day. We picked up dinner, ate in front of the tv then we had “special movie night” which was the movie of his choice, popcorn and soda. Then when we got up Saturday morning, we got ready and went out to a buffet breakfast. He is a specials needs young man and if he is over anxious and excited, he does not sleep. Since he and some of his buddies were getting to go to the movies to see the new Avenger’s movie, I knew he needed a good night sleep. Thus, we did not refer to his birthday or going to the movies at all. That night after his movie at the house, he was able to sleep and get an excellent night’s sleep. He totally forgot it was his b’day until I wished him a Happy Birthday. Seeing the joy on his face knowing he had slept well and would be able to enjoy his day was such a great blessing to me. It can be very difficult for him and he had an awesome b’day with his buddies at the movies. Later that night, we went over for cake, ice cream and presents and he was still doing well. It was one of the best days of my life seeing him doing so well and enjoying everything.
This was a special week. My second grandson was born healthy and happy and the family is over the moon in welcoming into the family. The other great thing is ifound my fingers to use on my paintings and loving this new form that I have discovered.
The best thing that happened this week was I got to celebrate MY birthday just doing what I wanted was a nice spa day with my sister and niece. Gift from my family was getting my Tahoe painted Chocolate Brown.
The temperature warmed up enough for us to open the windows and enjoy the breeze! After being closed all winter this was definitely a great thing that happened this week!
May came and brought with it so much fun on the calendar to look forward to, sunshine, flowers, and green everywhere!
We’re in a severe drought and I live in a forest. It rained just enough to keep the fire danger down and clean the dust and pollen off everything outdoors. I am very grateful.
This has been a wonderful week – I realized that good things to happen to good people. We had sunshine all week, the weather is finally warm and I’ve been able to get into my craft room (or She Shed) for the first time in weeks. I was able to finish sewing on the patches on my granddaughter’s scouting vests, re-organize my patterns and just have some me time. That’s the best thing anyone can ask for in a week.
We had a young lady move in with us. She will be interning at our church for the next year. Always a joy to help others achieve their goals!
Had a lovely lunch out today with friends
Spending time babysitting my one year old granddaughter. She lvies across the country but I have been lucky enough to see her a lot. IT is amazing how much she has grown in one year. She is so vocal and runs everywhere! Keeps me busy!
Girl’s night out was the best thing this week with great supper and laughs.
The best thing to happen to me this week was finding a pair of glasses that went missing several months ago. It doesn’t sound like much but I’ve worn glasses a long time and never loved a pair the way I love this pair. They disappeared a week or so after I bought them and we all looked everywhere for them. Suddenly they turned up! I had almost broken down and ordered another pair just like them. Sometimes it’s the simplest things that make life sweet. If you can’t appreciate the small things you’ll never fully appreciate the big ones.
Best thing to happen to me this week was being released from the hospital and being able to hold my granddaughter’s hand at bedtime so she sleeps better! We have done this since she was a baby and I think we BOTH need it for our hearts and souls!
This was a great week! I had surgery on my hand that will fix the problems I’ve had with my fingers!
I’ll be back to crafting with both hands in no time!!
My husband did not get sick from his chemotherapy.
I got my p50-1970 toner! I anticipate the glow!
I’m having a lovely week. Started the 1st for a month long vacation. Am having a great time with the family!
My youngest son turned 21 and we had a nice day. Hubby made a delicious stir -fry that he loved.
Came home Sunday from a 4 day retreat. Got to sew for myself! Finished quilting for a new customer. And ny husband came home from an 8 day work trip. Happy dance that he is home!
Thursday was a beautiful sunny day! No rain falling! No coats were required! I had a fun time with my sister, with whom I get together every Thursday to paint. We planned to work on watercolor batik, after having a quick lunch at a nearby restaurant. On the short drive back to my house, we spontaneously stopped at three garage sales. We met some delightful people, and enjoyed talking with them. Some were surprised with our unconventional plans for many of the items we bought. All things we purchased, from kitchen items to building materials, would end up being used in some way for art. We purchased some beautiful picture frames, and were given several more as we were leaving one of the sales! We didn’t have time or energy to paint when we got home, but we were HAPPY!
Gosh, everyone had a busy week,I had a week without doctors appt, that is a real treat for me. So, yes I sure had fun. I spent every day in my craft room. I made all kinds of cards. Birthdays, every day cards, special grandchildren cards. Now I’ll focus on making memorial and 4th of July cards. It’s been a while since I was totally absorbed into crafts. Oh and I used vinyl designs to decorate my explore machines. Awesome!!
The best thing that happened this week is I became a great grandmother for the third time! We also, bought a new Chrysler Pacifica that we are loving!! What a week, couldn’t ask for much more…feeling excited!!
I did not get selected to sit on a jury so therefore I was able to go back to work the next day.
I ate some home grown tomatoes this week…finally my container plants are producing! Yeah!
Using my plethora of scrapping tools, embellishments, and techniques to work on the invitations, schedules, signs, and decorations for my son & future daughter-in-law’s upcoming June wedding made this the greatest week ever!
I got to have lunch with my mother, daughter and granddaughter. 4 generations of beautiful women!
I love to see my grandchildren but they are always so busy with school and all their activities. This week one of my grandsons was playing a soccer game in my part of the city so he stopped in to say hi. That was the highlight of my week.
A whole bunch of things were good that happened this week. It was warm for 2 days so we got to open up the windows and air out the house. We even got to open up the basement door while we were home so the basement got aired out. I made a card for my sisters birthday, a friend and a friend of my mom’s all in May. One of my all time favorite movies, A Hard Days Night, was on TCM and I taped it. I got to watch it this week.I was dancing up a storm!
The best thing that happened to me this week is to get to go to church for two services. Being confined to bed for 2 years has really taken a toll
i find that when i look up things on the internet sometimes it’s hard to determine what is true/false & many ways to work on a project. i finally decided on how to work on my first rag quilt – what kind of fabric, whether it will be with batting or not, etc. after deciding, i finally have my fabric cut & ready to sew. so i’m feeling good with a sense of accomplishment,
My daughter graduated college with a major in neuroscience and a minor in women’s health from one of the top 10 colleges University of Michigan!
Our snow is FINALLY gone, the weather has been beautiful, and our migrating birds are returning . . . orioles, rose breasted grosbeaks and humming birds . . . HURRAY!
