My favorite childhood toy was properly a 20″ doll my dad won at some meeting or other….it was dressed like a bride in an amazing frilly dress, and when he brought it home I fell in love instantly. I didn’t have the gumption to ask that it be mine, despite the fact that I was the only daughter and who else would he have given it to, but late that night he came into my room while I slept and laid the doll beside me. I woke up enough to hear him ask with a grin if I wanted the doll and to tell him that yes, I certainly did! I loved that doll. I remember getting in trouble once because I took it to church and (against instructions) took it out of our van to show my friends.

My favorite childhood toy was a little plush of a critter from the Barney movie. I took that thing everywhere! Apparently though it got destroyed in the wash and my parents had to go out and buy me a new one while I was at school. I never knew this until years later!

Paper cutout dolls. My older sister was an aspiring artist so she drew us some basic dolls, and we spent hours drawing our own clothing for them, embellishing with scraps of fabric and sequins when we had them. We even “built” furniture out of cardboard and paper. My own daughters preferred My Little Ponies, so we continued the do-it-yourself tradition and fashioned pony gear and outfits from fabric, ribbon, bits of broken jewelry and whatever bits I had in my craft supplies.

I think my favorite toy was a metal semi truck and trailer, complete with a bunch of rubber animals. Somewhere along the years, I think I left the truck out where it got run over. I still had the trailer and some animals after I was married, and I shared them with my daughter. Many job moves later I think we misplaced them before I could share them with my grandchildren, though I have looked for farm animals for them to have.

My favorite childhood toy was my Mrs. Beasley doll.A “friend” took her and refused to give her back and her parents lied and said they bought her one even though she had the same tear in her as mine did.
I still miss her all these years later. 🙁

I loved (and still do love!) our huge dress up collection, mainly consisting of Mum’s old clothes and gorgeous homemade costumes.

My favorite toy was a doll. I had a boy and girl. You could pull a string and they would say things like “mamma”. I loved playing with them. It was almost like they were real babies.

I had a really different dollhouse that was modern – 60’s furniture and colors, a doorbell that rung, lights that worked, and stuff like that!

What a fun prize! Love that cute button snowman!
My favorite childhood toy was a small stuffed animal fox that I named Lopkie. I took him everywhere with me. I remember taking him to show and tell in kindergarten when I first got him!

My favorite toy was my Chatty Cathy doll. I remember hand stitching very “primitive looking” clothes for her from scraps of fabric.

My favourite toy was a doctors kit as I always wanted to be a doctor. Actually I wanted my set to not look toy like but like the real doctors tools lol! Those days!

That’s really hard to answer. I’m going to go with my first favorite toy which was fire engine that hooked up to a hose, so the fire nozzle squirted water.

My favorite toy as a small child was my Betsy McCall doll. She was beautiful! As an older child, I loved my collection of books, especially “Black Beauty.”

My favorite toy was a doll called Betsy Wetsy. My mom made lots of clothes for her and bought me a little suitcase to keep them in. I really loved that doll. My mom and dad still have her at their home and my grandchildren play with her. She has matted hair and ink all over her face thanks to my little brother but they still enjoy dressing her up in those clothes and putting her in the crib my dad made for her.
