Wishing You a Happy Anniversary Card

Happy Anniversary to CreateForLess!  Our favorite online store to purchase craft supplies is celebrating 15 years in business this month.  You can use this card to share a special moment with someone you know who is celebrating a special occasion, too.

Begin by creating a 5” x 7” card base from cardstock.  Use a paper trimmer to cut the cardstock and a scoring board to score and fold it in half to create the base.

Die cut several sized hearts using a set of heart dies in graduated sizes and a die cutting machine.  Lay them aside to use later.  Mix and match them using cardstock and patterned papers for a fun look.

Cut an oval using the Floral Ovals Die by Spellbinders from a piece of patterned paper (You’re Invited by Bo Bunny used here.) Also, die cut 2 ovals using the Large Classic Ovals Dies by Spellbinders from cardstock.  These ovals should be graduated sizes that will lay on top of the one cut from the patterned paper.

Stamp the sentiment onto the smallest oval using a black ink pad and acrylic block if using a clear stamp set.

Cut a piece of 1 ½” ribbon to be a little more than the length of the card.  In this case, the card is 7” long so the ribbon was cut to 8 ½”.

Lay the ribbon face down on a piece of thread and tie the thread around the ribbon making sure to pull it tight and then knot it so it won’t come undone.

Attach the ribbon to the card base using a thin line of glue and allow it to dry.  Then, attach the sentiment piece using the glue.

Stack some of the hearts together adhering them with a glue pen.  Leave some of them especially the smaller ones by themselves to use to fill in the spaces.  You can use the picture on the right as a guide as how to place them or create your own design.  Tilt some of them, leave some in straight rows and let some hand off the card for a great design look.

Finish the inside by stamping or writing a special message on the inside.

Share some happy wishes with someone on their next special occasion with this full of hearts card.  Change the message and use it to send some birthday wishes or a congratulations.  This month, take a minute and be sure to wish everyone at CreateForLess a very happy anniversary.

About Peg

Peg Rounds lives in East Moline, Illinois with her husband and best friend, Kevin and their son Josh and 2 dogs. She was an elementary school teacher turned stay at home mom, and later a home school mom. Over the years, she designed cakes on the side and went to school to become a certified chocolatier. She always has loved to craft since she was young and it was something that she wanted to be doing, but set it aside due to her busy life. After 15 years of doing cakes she decided it was time to stop and focus more on her family. She began doing layouts, then cards and it went from there. Before she knew it, next to spending time with her family, she spent every free moment creating something and blogging about it. One thing led to another and here she is today! Check out Peg's blog, Peg's Crafting Corner to see what else she has been up to!
