Sometimes you just feel like creating something, but really don’t want to change out of your sweatpants and leave the house to buy the materials. I doubt there’s a craft room in the world that doesn’t have a stockpile of paper. That’s why I’ve recently gotten in to origami.
I mentioned paper and went straight in to a fabric tutorial, I know. I think it’s a great idea to use origami techniques with materials other than paper. These fabric butterflies are so fun and easy, and they can be used in so many different ways.
Origami Vase – DIY with Love
Grab a basic piece of paper and turn it into a cool geometric piece of home decor. This technique would look great as office organization too.
Metallic Origami Rings – Zakka Life
These rings would be a really fun project to work on with kids. I have to get my hands on some metallic crepe paper like this!
Origami Lampshades – Drama Queen at Work
This is a genius way to decorate your home without breaking the bank. Find some paper that matches your decor, and you’re good to go.
Origami Cash Gift Wallet – Sum of their Stories
I think everyone’s favorite gift to get, but least favorite to give is cash. Add a personal touch to a cash gift with a little bit of origami. This shows you care, and the recipient can enjoy their cash!
