With the 4th of July finally here, it’s the season for outdoor barbecues and long summer nights. I love spending whole days outside and I love the idea of adding some personal touches to make your backyard more cozy and more entertaining. I’ve spent many 4th of July’s at block parties where children were left to roam free and adults were left to talk about politics and other important adult topics. I’m entering a time when I’m looking more at home decor than I ever have before. Here are some great crafts to spruce up the outside environment in your life.

For whatever party you are having, use your lawn to add some flair to the event. When the grass grows, you can cut it down and create a new design. These stars are perfect for the 4th of July, but you could also create different shapes for other occasions such as sports themes for an end of the season party.

Bird House Wind Chime - Think Crafts

Let your children add their own art to your lawn with this fun craft that gives color and sound to your backyard. Or, make the craft suit your style by using different elements for the wind chimes. I bet corks would work well with the wooden beads.
