Once my holiday decor comes down, my house always looks a little to bare for me. I thought a great way to liven up my home decor and celebrate the season would be with these fun little snowflake tealight holders! They are the perfect way to create your own indoor winter wonderland all season long.
What You Need:
- Glass Votive Holder or Cups
- Computer Paper
- Tiny Scissors
- Paper Trimmer
- Spray Adhesive
- Frosted Glass Paint
- Pouncer
How to Make It:
Trim your paper into small squares. I used 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 inch squares. You can make yours smaller or larger depending on the size of your votive holders.
Fold each square as shown above and then trim off the excess triangles on top so you have one wedge shaped piece. Cut your snowflakes using templates, or just wing it. I found that more intricately cut snowflakes turned out a lot better on the votive holder.
In a well ventilated area, spray your adhesive onto one side of each of your snowflake and adhere them to the votive. The adhesive dries fast, so work quickly.
Squeeze a little bit of your glass paint (I used Martha Stewart Glass Paint in Blue Calico) onto your pouncer and dab it directly onto the votive. I would make sure the first few dabs are on a part of your glass that don’t have the snowflake stencils. It will spread out better on the glass, and you won’t have to worry about the stencil bleeding.
Continue this process, making sure to use light dabs over the stencil, until all of your votives have been painted. Let dry completely, about 2 hours, before applying your second coat.
Once everything is dry, carefully peel your stencil off the votive.
Fill the bottom of the tealight holders with salt for a snowy effect and place a tealight inside.
Enjoy your homemade winter wonderland!

These are so VERY PRETTY!!!
