Earth Day is coming soon and I can’t wait for Spring to finally show up, so we made a quick bird feeder to entice some feathered friends to visit our yard. It is a bit of recycling as well as helping out birds during this unseasonably cold weather.
Supplies:
- Cardboard tube
- Peanut Butter
- Bird Seed
Cover the work surface. Have your child cover the cardboard tube with peanut butter. On a plate lay a thin layer of bird seed, roll the peanut butter covered cardboard tube in the seeds.
Once the entire tube is covered in seeds, take the tube outside and place it on a branch for the birds to come and eat. By using the tube, it fits nicely on a branch without having to worry about anything holding it on.

Love this idea!! Another way to use those TP rolls.
