In celebration of National Craft Month, we asked everyone to send in their favorite craft tips for the chance to win $100 at CreateForLess and we received wonderful tips from all of you! We could only choose one winner, though, so congratulations to… Leslie C. our 2013 Craft Month Drawing winner!
Here’s Leslie’s Tip:
When painting glass Christmas Balls, I use the tri-tip plastic holders from pizza boxes to hold the ball while they dry. If you mount them to a board, you can hold several at a time and keep painting.
Here are some of our other favorite craft tips from the 2013 drawing…
No place to put a permanent design board? You can use a flannel sheet for an instant design board where ever you are! Just use quilters pins or painter’s tape to hold the sheet to the wall. Roll it up to take it with you.
Have room for a design wall, think about using foam board as the base, sprayed with adhesive and covered in flannel or felt. To adhere to the wall, you can use poster tape-no marks.

One of the things that ALWAYS jazzes up ANY PAGE is something as simple as CHALK! Chalking is super easy, dont be intimidated! You can chalk the edges of each photo mount, journal mount, tag, or embelishment. Trust me, you’ll be hooked.

I love to use tea or left over coffee to age my fabric or paper. I sometimes will add some vanilla to add a yummy, homey smell. Even better I will rub some cinnamon in fabric after it has soaked in whatever mixture I have used. When the fabric is still damp the cinnamon rubs in nicely. I love the look and the smell! Especially for fall crafting!
