While watching Morgan play with Mod Podge Photo Transfer for her World Map, I started to think about what other unique surfaces you could use this to transfer photos to. I decided to give clay a try. I’m always drawn to tiny flower pots and though they would make a great surface to experiment on, and it was really fun!
I’ve sort of given up on owning plants. I can’t keep them alive, I do not understand how to do that. Doesn’t matter what type of plant it is, if it’s in my possession, it will die a slow, painful death. It’s gotten to the point where all we have are a couple aloe plants and my boyfriend insists he take care of them because he loves them. Fine by me.
My mom and stepdad moved to a beautiful new house almost a year ago. She’d had this potted tree that had made moves with her for almost twenty years, to different houses in the same state, to a house with a newly formed family, and even a house across the country. It had been in my home growing up, no matter where we lived, since I could remember. Then, she moved to this gorgeous house surrounded by nature in the middle of the woods…and it killed her plant. The dumb “softened” water at her house killed her plant. It made me so sad to hear that our beloved family tree had died.
I love having plants around the house, but I’m surrounded by trees so I don’t get much sun. I had a fake plant that needed a little love, so I decided to give it a fun, natural looking planter. I had so much fun making that one, I decided to do another.
I committed recently to a healthier lifestyle. My norm used to be weekly runs to Taco Time, frequent binge watching of Netflix shows, the occasional walk on my lunch break to get out of the office, but not much else in the way of exercise. After realizing that while this lifestyle was easy, it was not making me feel very good about myself, something clicked in my brain and I became very determined to change. Enter the fun new healthy recipes, weird apartment-sized exercise equipment, and desperate attempt to make this drastic change a bit more convenient for myself. Although these little planters are just a small step in the right direction, they’re fun and they inspire me to make good choices every time I see them.
