Cooler temperatures have started trickling in where I live. Fall is returning and so is the need for knitwear. A close fitting cap makes an excellent bike hat to wear under your helmet. It provides extra warmth and some extra cushioning. A cable pattern gives this hat great texture. Though this pattern is for intermediate knitters, if you are a beginner knitter who wants to level up this is an excellent project to do so. Once mastered, cables are easy to do and are an impressive addition to knitted gifts.

Monsters make the best toys. They come in seemingly endless shapes and sizes. This pattern will make a small cute monster toy but do experiment to make your own unique creature. Though the pattern is written for intermediate knitters, if you’re a beginner and want to level up, try making a knit monster. The pattern will teach you increases, decreases, shaping, Icord and sewing knit pieces together. Create your own unique monster by using different yarn colors and different sizes for eyes and teeth. Remember, there’s no wrong way to make a monster!
