We moved into our new office about 6 months ago, and sadly it took me awhile to find a way to display cute pictures of my mini. The problem was finding something that would add a little color, and match the reclaimed wood, ruggedness of the rest of the office. Thankfully I finally came up with a solution.

Wine Cork Bath Mat

A few weeks ago, my mom called me with a wedding present idea for a wine loving cousin that is getting married this fall…a Wine Cork Bath Mat. She asked for help making it, and as any good daughter would do, I took over and decided to make it for her. This bath mat is a little time consuming, I mean you do have to drink a lot of wine to get the corks, but so much fun.

PS. You can buy used wine corks online so you don’t really have to drink all that wine, or just use new cork stoppers.

PPS. If you know said cousin getting married, please don’t tell.

Alcohol Ink Key Hook

I am notoriously bad at remembering my keys. In the past few weeks I have locked myself out of my apartment twice and my car once. This fact is proven by the bent screen that is sitting in my kitchen right now from where my boyfriend broke into the apartment to save us from being locked out for hours. So not only are these key hooks necessary to keep me organized, they were also a great excuse to play with a new medium I haven’t used before, alcohol ink. These key hooks were surprisingly easy to make, though I did encounter some bumps along the way.
