Crafts, Holidays, Mod Podge Projects, Projects

By Paper Crafts Contributor, Lauren Romano.
The Chinese food restaurant I order from gives takeout in round or rectangle plastic containers. I’ve reused them for quite a few things, but when I wanted to use them to put baked goods in to distribute to friends, they looked too plain. A few pieces of scrapbook paper and the container turns from boring to decorative.

What you’ll need:
Step 1. Wash the container inside and out, then dry it thoroughly before using it.
Step 2. Choose a piece of scrapbook paper that corresponds with the occasion for which you’re giving the edible gift. For example, if you’re giving the gift for Valentine’s Day, choose a similarly themed piece of paper. Cut the piece of scrapbook paper in half.
Step 3. Put Mod Podge on the outside of the container except for the bottom. Line up the edge of one half of the paper with the top edge of the container, then press it down to eliminate any bubbles or creases. Keep placing paper onto the container until the outside of it is covered.
Step 4. Use a box cutter to trim the excess paper. Lightly run the blade along the paper, don’t press hard otherwise you can scratch or puncture the container.
Step 5. Punch out a scallop circle from a piece of cardstock, then stamp the piece with a message. Use Mod Podge to attach the piece to the top center of the lid.
Step 6. Use fabric glue to make a line going along the outside of the lid, attach a ribbon, then tie it into a bow.
Step 7. Cover the scrapbook paper with a thin coat of Mod Podge. Flip the bottom half of the container upside down so it can dry without sticking to any surface.

DCWV Diary has started hosting a monthly scrapbooking template contest for everyone who uses their Paper Stacks. The Stack-a-Holic Template Challenge starts when DCWV Diary posts a scrapbook layout template, so be on the lookout for one coming in May! This Saturday is National Scrapbooking Day, maybe these pictures will inspire some layout ideas.
If you didn’t see last month’s challenge, it started with this layout template:

Everyone was asked to model their layout after this template. I was so impressed with the entries; I wanted to share some of my favorites:
