About: Peg Rounds lives in East Moline, Illinois with her husband and best friend, Kevin and their son Josh and 2 dogs. She was an elementary school teacher turned stay at home mom, and later a home school mom. Over the years, she designed cakes on the side and went to school to become a certified chocolatier. She always has loved to craft since she was young and it was something that she wanted to be doing, but set it aside due to her busy life. After 15 years of doing cakes she decided it was time to stop and focus more on her family. She began doing layouts, then cards and it went from there. Before she knew it, next to spending time with her family, she spent every free moment creating something and blogging about it. One thing led to another and here she is today!See Authors Posts (102)

Zippers have made their way in to fashion and I don’t think they are going anyway for a while. But WAIT! You don’t have to make this project with zippers, you could use a cool trim, lace or a strip of fabric, even some chain. Think about it and whip out that E-6000. You can do it!

I bought these earrings last summer while on a road trip with a friend. They’re made of redwood and have what must be a nonstandard sized post – because the backs are impossible to replace. Everything is too big. needless to say, I lost one and haven’t been able to wear them everyday. Pretty heartbreaking.

To remedy the situation, I’ve made a few new pairs. They’re not redwood, but I think I might prefer the fine grain Douglas Fir look. And they could always be stained…

About: I am a work at home mother of two living just outside Kansas City, KS. I started crafting with my oldest daughter to spend more time with her and to get her to focus more. And I have to say it has been a great experience for us both. As a matter of fact I have created a craft monster since she tells me several times a week “Let’s do a project MOM!” My youngest is finally at an age where we can start crafting with her too, but then comes the challenge of coming up with something a toddler can do that a preschooler will enjoy also… oh the challenges of a crafting mom. I hope to inspire other parents to craft and create things with their kids.See Authors Posts (22)

Christmas Card Ornaments

I love to get Christmas cards each year, but my favorite ones are always the ones that are homemade. I especially love homemade cards from kids, so each year I have my girls make cards to give out too.
This year I thought it would be neat to make cards that could be hung from the tree as ornaments too. That way Grandma & Grandpa could keep them for many years to come (and me too!). We did two designs; a snowman and an ornament shape for the cards. Both cards open up for you to write your special message and then they can be displayed hanging from the tree. I like to write the year on the back of each one so years from now I can look back and see when these were done.

This is a cute way to keep snowballs in the house! I love the look of yarn balls displayed in a bowl, and this takes them a step further to winter decorations. Perfect in a knitter’s house for the Holidays!

Supplies:
Styrofoam Balls
Ball of white or natural yarn
White plastic grocery bags with no printing
White Snow Glitter

Winter is here and with all the holidays the kids seem to be home a lot. And with it being colder they can’t go outside to play as much, which means boredom is beginning to set in. So the other day it was cold and rainy out and both girls were starting to get on each other’s nerves pretty early in the day and I thought why not make a game we could all play.
And to make it even more fun, we got a little crafty and made our cups into snowmen. Which, both my girls loved to do because coloring is just so awesome.
Supplies
10 Styrofoam cups
Markers
6 Big Pom Poms
Directions for Snowman Cups

Color a cute snowman face on all 10 of your cups. (Note: younger children may just scribble, and that is fine)
