About: I am a work at home mother of two living just outside Kansas City, KS. I started crafting with my oldest daughter to spend more time with her and to get her to focus more. And I have to say it has been a great experience for us both. As a matter of fact I have created a craft monster since she tells me several times a week “Let’s do a project MOM!” My youngest is finally at an age where we can start crafting with her too, but then comes the challenge of coming up with something a toddler can do that a preschooler will enjoy also… oh the challenges of a crafting mom. I hope to inspire other parents to craft and create things with their kids.See Authors Posts (22)

My cousin just had her first baby, a little boy. She is bringing the baby down to visit her mom and I am so excited to meet him! I sure do miss little newborn baby snuggles, there is nothing like it. So I thought it would be nice if the girls made their new cousin (or is it 2nd cousin?) a nice little present.
I figured every baby has clothes and needs hangers, so what better gift for the girls to make but these adorable beaded hangers. We made one for my other cousin who has a daughter the same age as my little one too (that is why one is pink).
Not only is this a really fun and practical craft/gift, but it is great for my little ones motor skills. She really enjoyed putting the beads on the hanger and it was great practice for her hand eye coordination. It is also a great project to help teach counting since you can do the beads in different patterns (three of one color two of another).
I did help with the ribbon part of this craft but the girls put all the beads on, which makes this a truly special gift. These would make great baby shower gifts or they would be perfect just to make to hand your own baby clothes on.

I hate shopping for wedding wrapping paper. Finding great wedding wrapping means handing over a lot of money for fancy glitter or foil accents and I can never settle for not-so-great wedding wrapping. When I was getting ready for my friends Mike and Laura’s wedding, I knew that I wanted to do something special and personal. I love the idea of monogrammed wrapping paper so that you don’t have to use gift tags, and I wanted to add a little something extra for Mike and Laura’s big day. This idea would be great for Christmas too. A little monogrammed letter in the corner in lieu of gift tags will add a special personal touch to all of your gifts!
Here’s What You Need:
- Craft Paper or Thick Wrapping Paper
- Embroidery Floss
- Tapestry Needle
- Printed Template or a Pencil and Good Handwriting
- Painter’s Tape
- Optional: A Piece of Styrofoam or Corrugated Cardboard the size of your template (It makes a much better, sturdier base when poking holes through the template, but carpet works okay as well and is what I used)

Teachers and parents alike enjoy showcasing their children’s homework or artwork. This project incorporates the clothespin display with a seasonal theme.

Materials needed:
Directions:
- Use the mitten template provided as a guide to cut out or trim scrapbook paper scraps. The heavier paper or cardstock would be best. You can embellish the cuffs on the mittens, or add cotton balls to give them a more 3-D look. For my example, I used white cardstock for the cuffs.
- After the mittens are made and the glue is dried, turn them over face down. (If you choose to laminate the mittens for durability you would do that before gluing the clothespin on the back) Using E6000 glue, add a clothespin to the back of each mitten. Make sure that the clothespins are glued at the same place so that they match up when hung. Set aside and wait for the glue to completely dry.
- Once the mittens are completely dry, you can begin hanging them. The purpose of the clothespin on the back is to make it easier to hang them in places where there is limited space to hang. In my example, I clipped the clothespins onto my bulletin board. It’s easy to change out seasonally, and it is a cute way to display classroom work.
- Tie a piece of twine onto the clip on the back of each mitten. A little tension in the twine helps keep the line from sagging from the weight of the clips.

After the mittens are securely hung on the wall or bulletin board, the display is ready for items to be hung on the twine.

Are you all ready for Christmas? Is the shopping done and the presents wrapped? I’m certainly not ready but that didn’t stop me from taking twenty minutes to relax with the kids and get my toilet paper crafting on! Have fun crating this little toilet paper roll angel!

Mustaches are more popular now than ever before, it seems like. This year, you name it- there is a mustache on it. My daughter also loves mustaches and thinks they are awesome. So we came up with these glass ornaments to class up our tree.
