Lets face it, kids these days can be hard to shop for, especially when they already have so many toys and countless other ‘stuff’ they probably don’t really need in the first place. So, what do you do?!?!
Here is a fun idea and the best part of all is that it doesn’t cost much and it is super easy to do! Also, what kid doesn’t like to get something in the mail right?

Art supplies and coloring pages, simple, easy and perfect!

A little washi tape to secure the roll and into a cleaned up plastic bottle they go!

Add some crayons, pens or pencils or whatever you fancy! Head to the post office to see how many stamps you’ll need. I ordered some fun Pixar stamps to jazz it up and personalize it for a little boy. Seriously, you can mail just about anything these days!

(Had to doctor the address a bit for privacy of course)
I also added some Birthday stickers to the bottle.

Kinda fun, kinda unique, kinda cheap and really fun to receive!!!

About: I am a work at home mother of two living just outside Kansas City, KS. I started crafting with my oldest daughter to spend more time with her and to get her to focus more. And I have to say it has been a great experience for us both. As a matter of fact I have created a craft monster since she tells me several times a week “Let’s do a project MOM!” My youngest is finally at an age where we can start crafting with her too, but then comes the challenge of coming up with something a toddler can do that a preschooler will enjoy also… oh the challenges of a crafting mom. I hope to inspire other parents to craft and create things with their kids.See Authors Posts (22)

My cousin just had her first baby, a little boy. She is bringing the baby down to visit her mom and I am so excited to meet him! I sure do miss little newborn baby snuggles, there is nothing like it. So I thought it would be nice if the girls made their new cousin (or is it 2nd cousin?) a nice little present.
I figured every baby has clothes and needs hangers, so what better gift for the girls to make but these adorable beaded hangers. We made one for my other cousin who has a daughter the same age as my little one too (that is why one is pink).
Not only is this a really fun and practical craft/gift, but it is great for my little ones motor skills. She really enjoyed putting the beads on the hanger and it was great practice for her hand eye coordination. It is also a great project to help teach counting since you can do the beads in different patterns (three of one color two of another).
I did help with the ribbon part of this craft but the girls put all the beads on, which makes this a truly special gift. These would make great baby shower gifts or they would be perfect just to make to hand your own baby clothes on.

I hate shopping for wedding wrapping paper. Finding great wedding wrapping means handing over a lot of money for fancy glitter or foil accents and I can never settle for not-so-great wedding wrapping. When I was getting ready for my friends Mike and Laura’s wedding, I knew that I wanted to do something special and personal. I love the idea of monogrammed wrapping paper so that you don’t have to use gift tags, and I wanted to add a little something extra for Mike and Laura’s big day. This idea would be great for Christmas too. A little monogrammed letter in the corner in lieu of gift tags will add a special personal touch to all of your gifts!
Here’s What You Need:
- Craft Paper or Thick Wrapping Paper
- Embroidery Floss
- Tapestry Needle
- Printed Template or a Pencil and Good Handwriting
- Painter’s Tape
- Optional: A Piece of Styrofoam or Corrugated Cardboard the size of your template (It makes a much better, sturdier base when poking holes through the template, but carpet works okay as well and is what I used)

My daughter is turning 5 in a month or so and we are having a large shindig for her. It will be a Gala of epic proportions for a person who is only 5! To cut costs, like many moms, I’m doing a lot of the work myself. The decorations are going to be 95% handmade. I shared these tissue paper flowers last month. Not only does it save on cash, but there is a little bonding time between myself and my daughter as we make these items for her party.

This is sure to be a hit with anyone of any age. It’s just simply the gift of wishes. It’s the right time to start collecting them, and stock up for the winter holidays, birthdays and just plain sad days. My daughter and I love fairies, she calls the puffy seeds of the dandelions “fairy wishes”. Just yesterday she found the first puff of the season and before she blew on it to send her wish out into the world we saved a couple in a tiny vial to give to her friend for her birthday. How adorable to give this tiny glass vial filled with wishes.

I have a few birthdays on my calendar this month, which gave me the excuse to use this new Cuttlebug birthday embossing folder. You need the following tools and supplies to create this card:
Fold the red cardstock so it is a finished size of 4.25″x 5.5″ and cut the pink cardstock to 5.25″x 4″. Cut all of the pieces for the cake at 3.5″. Adhere all of the layers of the cake together. Run the pink cardstock through the Cuttlebug machine to emboss. Adhere the cake to the embossed cardstock. This card is so colorful and cheerful and I hope the recipient loves it! Have a lovely and creative day!

Creating gender neutral birthday cards can be quite challenging. But, sometimes the best designs come out of necessity. You need the following tools and supplies to create this card:
Fold the teal cardstock so it is a finished size of 4.25″x5.5″. In Microsoft Word, create the happy birthday! in Mission Script in 30pt type and make four to a page. Trim the white cardstock with greeting to 5.25″x 4″ and adhere to the teal card. Punch a 1.25″ circle in green cardstock, a 1.5″ circle in teal cardstock and a 2″ circle in purple cardstock. Run each circle through the Cuttlebug machine to emboss. Adhere the circles to the white cardstock. The beauty of this card is that you can change the cardstock to whatever color combination you prefer or punch out patterned paper instead of the embossed cardstock. The possibilities are endless. Happy card making!
