If you have a scrap wood bin, this project is made for you. If you don’t, head over to the store and pick up a bag of scrap wood.  The pieces do not need to match, or even be cut straight.  The more differences your pieces have, the more charming your project will be.

Choose a word or a name that you would like to display. This project can be adapted to holidays: Noel, Love, Thanks.  Or make the blocks with your family name.  What a nice gift this is for anyone on any occasion.

You need:

• Big & Glitzy Glitter Glue: Peacock, Peridot,  Garnet (or colors to match what you are showcasing)
• Acrylic Paint: black,  turquoise, lime, hot pink  (also select your colors accordingly)
• 4 pieces of scrap wood (or as many as you need to spell your word or name)
• Wide flat brush 

Try this:

Basecoat wood pieces black.  Let dry.  Paint the edges of the blocks turquoise, lime and hot pink.  Let dry.

Using Big & Glitzy, print a letter on each block, with a frame around it in a different color.  Add stripes, dots, squares or whatever fits your project.

This is your chance to be creative with color and design.  Make this reflect you!

Sparkle

I am obsessed with pretty spring birds, I admit it!  I had such fun making these today out of Shrinky Dinks, and you will too!  Here is what you need:

• White shrink plastic
• Colored pencils 
• Big & Glitzy Glitter Glue  (I used Aquamarine and Ruby)
• Scissors 
• Hole punch 
• Ribbon 
• Your oven

Try this:

1.  Print bird pattern.  Lay it under shrink plastic.  Trace with pencil.  You should get two birds out of a sheet of plastic.

2.  Color birds with colored pencils.  Put the kids to work, have them color! Cut out the birds.  Use hole punch to punch a hole in the top wing.

3.  Bake in the oven on a cookie sheet following the instructions on the shrink plastic package.  See how much they shrink?

The color intensifies when they shrink.  Pretty!

4.  Squeeze a little glitter glue on the bird.  Spread with a small brush or with your finger.  Let glitter dry.  Even prettier!

Why not?  My niece just got a car. It is not cute. When you are 17, it is hard to drive a big old ugly car.  I told her that one day she will look back and brag on how she had the world’s ugliest car.  But for now, life is a journey, just go along for the ride.  So, we both made car signs for our cars.  They turned out way cuter than our cars. 

Make one for your car.  People will honk and wave or give you the thumbs up.  Here is what you need:

• 9×12 sheet of magnet canvas
• Sparkle 21: Choose colors you like and that will stand out against the color of your car.  You will want Night Sparkle and Silver Sparkle for the tires and three other colors of your choice
• #2 pencil
• Scissors
• Big oval crystal gem

Try this:

1.  Print patterns.  Turn paper over and trace pattern lines on back with a heavy line of pencil.  Place patterns right side up, on magnet sheet.  Retrace lines.

2.  Fill in pattern areas with Sparkle 21. The thicker you apply Sparkle 21, the more it will glitter in the sun.  Let the glitter dry.  It will take up to 48 hours.

3.  While the glitter is wet, set the gem at the front of the car to make a headlight.

4.  When the glitter is dry, use scissors to cut out the car and cut around words with a wavy line.

Stick to the car.  Cute!

Sparkle

Recently, I saw a very expensive set of glass pitcher and 4 glasses in a nice specialty store.  It made me want to have a picnic right then.  The glass was fused and had many colors decorating it.  I knew that I could make something I would like just as much.  Target had inexpensive blanks, I bought 4 glasses in a set for $1.99.  Can’t beat that!

I sat at my work table for a couple hours, put in a DVD movie and started glittering.  There is no pattern to follow.  Just make circles.  So easy and so pretty!

You Need:

Sparkle 21: 2 bottles each Vintage Sparkle, Ocean Sparkle, Jungle Sparkle (or other colors of your choice)

Clear pitcher and glasses

Try This:

Clean outside of pitcher and try not to touch the clean surface.

On surface of pitcher, randomly using three colors, make circles of Sparkle 21.

Make them close together.  Some circles will have one color, some two, some three.   Make circles travel up the sides of the pitcher as high as you desire.  Let dry completely before using.

Glasses: Repeat same process for glasses.

TIP: Sparkle 21 is permanent on glass.  Let it cure at least 48 hours before using.  It can be washed by hand.  Do not submerge in sink for extended period or put in the dishwasher.

Use colors that match your dishes, or wedding colors, or school colors.

I could not resist these brown candles, so chocolate looking.  They are non-scented, so they are a little less expensive too.  But, you know me.  I think even chocolate needs glitter! 

Remember as you are making these, perfection is not the key, glitter is.  Just have fun with your Big & Glitzy.

I used Big & Glitzy Glitter Glue because it sticks better to most surfaces.  It is also made of big chunks of holographic glitter…so pretty.  And, unlike kid’s glitter glue, the colors fit home decor.  Since turquoise is THE color of the year, I new my chocolate brown candles would be trendy and fabulous.

You Need:

Big & Glitzy Glitter Glue: Aquamarine, Nugget

Sparkle Gems: 8mm round Amber

Pillar candles: brown, size of your choice (mine are 6″ and 3″)

Try this:

With the 6″ candle,  working on one side of the candle at a time, draw a rectangle of Aquamarine that is the height of the candle.  Inside that rectangle, draw a smaller rectangle of Nugget. 

Add dots of Nugget between Nugget and Aquamarine rectangles. Set amber gems into dots where desired. 

Repeat, alternating colors for rectangles.

Prop the candle up so it cannot roll, let glitter glue dry.  Repeat on next section of candle.  Continue until rectangles go all the way around the candle.

For the 3″ candle, working on one side of the candle at a time, apply dots of Nugget.  Set amber gems into dots.  Prop the candle up so it cannot roll, let glitter glue dry.  Repeat on next section of candle.  Continue until gems go all the way around the candle.

Another 3″ candle: Alternating colors, draw narrow rectangles on one side of candle. Prop the candle up so it cannot roll, let glitter glue dry.  Repeat on next section of candle.  Continue until rectangles go all the way around the candle.

TIP: To save the candle, burn down in the center a couple of times, blowing it out before the edges get melted.  Place a tea candle or votive in the hole.  Burn the votive.  Replace the votive as many times as you want.  This is also a way to add some scent to your burning candles: use scented votives.

Change up the colors to whatever suits your mood or décor.  This set would make a nice centerpiece, don’t you think?

You might not think of glitter glue as a component of adult jewelry. I think I might change your mind with this beautiful falling leaves bracelet made with Big & Glitzy glitter glue. Big & Glitzy is the most amazing, sparkliest glitter glue available. It’s the big gun of glitter glue!

Just look at this leaf charm, the look is almost crystally….because Big & Glitzy is so chunky.

I made this bracelet in less than an hour, not including drying time. You can make this fast and easy bracelet too.

You need:

• 5 gold leaf charms (They are 1 1/4″ tall, but there were a lot of different leaf charms I could have used, I used these)
• Big & Glitzy Glitter Glue: Peridot, Nugget, Ruby, Coral
• gold chain link bracelet
• 5 gold jump rings
• 20-21 assorted size and shape crystal beads in fall colors
• gold craft wire
• round nose pliers
• chain nose pliers
• wire cutters

Try this:

1. Lay your charms on covered work surface. Cover the front of each charm with Big & Glitzy. Pile it on! Refer to Mother Nature’s work for ideas on how to color them in. Let charms dry.

2. Using two pair of pliers, hook the charms evenly across the bracelet with jump rings. Open the jump ring by twisting it open. String a charm on it, place it through the bracelet link, and twist it closed.

My five charms glittered up.

3. Wire wrap beads randomly to fill in the bracelet. If you have never done wire wrapping, google: wire wrapping a loop. There are many good tutorials available. You can also find instructions for wrapping a loop in the back of any jewelry magazine.

4. Humbly accept accolades from friends and family when wearing.

The completed bracelet. You could add more charms or beads if you like. This would also make a very pretty necklace. The great thing about using glitter glue for jewelry is that the glitter does not shed. And with Big & Glitzy, it is just as sparkly as loose glitter.

This swirly pumpkin looks great in the center of my table where a little bit of light from the window catches the glitter and makes it sparkle.  I think I will leave it there until after Thanksgiving.  It is made from paper, glue and glitter….very easy to make and inexpensive too. You can make it in any size. Mine is about 10 inches tall.

Here is what you need for a 10″ pumpkin:

• bristol board, 300# (I bought a large sheet with a 40% off coupon, so the price was right and I have enough to make at least three pumpkins)
• Glitter: orange, gold, green
• white craft glue
• #2 pencil
• small flat paintbrush
• scissors

Try this:

1. Draw a pumpkin pattern with swirls, or print out mine and use the copy machine to make it whatever size you want your pumpkin to be.

2. Transfer your pattern to the bristol board. An easy way to transfer is to draw over the pattern lines with a #2 pencil. Turn the pattern upside down on the bristol board. Hold in place and retrace all the lines on the back side of the pattern. Remember to add a stem to the top of your pumpkin. Trace and cut out two pumpkins. Trace the swirl lines on both sides of your cut out pumpkins.

3. Cut a slit at the center bottom of one pumpkin. Cut a slit at the center top of the other.

4. Using the flat paintbrush, brush glue on the swirls. Sprinkle gold glitter over wet glue. Shake off excess. Let dry before glittering swirls on the other side of the pumpkin. Glitter all four sides.

5.  Brush glue to cover the rest of the pumpkin.  Sprinkle orange glitter over wet glue.  Shake off excess.  Glitter all four sides.

6.  Glitter the stems green on both sides.

7.  Slide the slits together so the pumpkin will stand up.  Place it wherever the light will catch the glitter and make it shine.

After Thanksgiving, you can take the pieces apart and lay them flat in a drawer or box until next year.

Wouldn’t it be cute to make small glitter pumpkins and use as place card holders?
