Create a fun flock of wooly sheep for spring with this fun project!
Here’s what you’ll need to make your own:
- PA Essentials Chenille Stems 6 mm x 12 in. White 25 pc.
- PA Essentials Chenille Stems 6 mm x 12 in. Black 25 pc.
- PA Essentials Pom Poms 1 1/2 in. White 15 pc.
- PA Essentials Pom Poms 1 1/2 in. Black 15 pc.
- Wool Roving
- Black Seed Beads
- Black Felt
- Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
To begin, twist two chenille stems end-to-end. Twist one end into a “V” shape.
Leave about an inch long stem below the “V” to form the neck, and below that, twist two inch-and-a-half long legs.
Leave a straight piece about an inch-and-a-half long for the body, and then twist another set of legs and a tiny bump of a tail. Twist any extra chenille stem around the body. You’ll have a four-legged “stick” looking animal now.
Glue a white pom pom below the ears to create a head and face for your sheep.
Glue two pom poms to the top of the body portion on the stick animal.
Pull a long, inch long strip of wool roving from your roll. Begin wrapping the wool around the body, being sure to go around the top of the legs, and neck.
Wrap more strips of wool, until the sheep is as fluffy as you desire. Add a dot of hot glue here, and there to help secure it as needed.
Glue two seed beads to the head for eyes. Glue them up higher towards the ears to really make it look like a sheep.
Cut a tiny triangle from felt, and glue onto the head as a nose.
Try using all different colors of wool roving to create a whole flock of colorful spring sheep.
