Show the Earth some love this Valentine’s Day with this cute recycling craft!
Here’s what you’ll need to make your own:
- Plastic Water Bottle
- Cardboard or Chipboard
- Aluminum Foil
- Darice Mini Pom Pom Garland 2 yd. Red
- Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
- White Paper
Use your marker to trace the bottom of the bottle onto the cardboard. Cut the circle out.
To begin, use your scissors to cut the off top of the waterbottle, several inches below the neck. I cut mine off right at the top of the label, leaving me with a “kiss shape.” Discard the lid.
Use your hot glue to adhere the cardboard round to the large, open end of your plastic kiss. This doesn’t have to look perfect, it’s going to be covered up, we just want to make a solid bottom for our finished piece.
Cut a strip of paper about an inch wide, by 5-6 inches long. Write a Valentine’s Day message on one end with a marker.
Use hot glue to attach the plain end of your paper strip to the inside of the mouth of the bottle.
Add various strips of trim, and ribbon to the top of the bottle, like you did the paper strip.
Cut a square of foil to wrap your kiss, about twice as wide as your kiss is tall–my squares were about 6-inches in size.
Carefully bend your foil up, and around your kiss to cover, pinching the top around your paper strip, and ribbons to hold them in place. Voila! You’re done!
Happy Valentine’s Day Crafting!
