Christmas crafting is in full swing and to make it easy, I’ll be creating some fun cards using just the Photoplay Kringle & Co. Card Kit.
The color scheme of this kit is red, gray, black and white, but there are some great patterns to work with including my favorite—gingham! The kit comes with 2 each of 3 double-sided papers. One side is a plain design, where the other is a variety of cutout shapes.
To start, I cut apart all the patterns on 3 of the sheets using my handy Fiskars SureCut trimmer to kind of see everything I had to work with.
The kit comes with some pre-scored, white notecards which have a really nice thickness, so I created some backgrounds. Some pieces I popped up with foam tape for more texture. This was a nice starting point for me. Once I got the foundations down, I could just play with all the other pieces and sentiments.
In addition to the papers, the kit comes with a 12×12 sticker sheet with all kinds of Christmas elements and words. Here, I used some little trees along with a sentiment flag.
I love the checked papers—they have such a nice homespun look!
I tried to keep things pretty simple using design concepts like the rule of threes and triangle clusters.
I did grab my bottle of Woodland Green Nuvo drops just to add to one of the cards for some more color—I couldn’t resist!
The kit has even more sketches for putting together cards on the package, so this is a really great option if you want to do handmade but don’t have a lot of time. Thanks so much for joining me today!
