I love a good ink blended scene for the front of a card.

When I came across this 12×12 scene building stencil from PA Essentials called Horizons, I couldn’t wait to try out all the different options for backgrounds (it comes in 6×6 too).

I used my new favorite tool from Wendy Vecchi called the Make Art Stay-tion.  The magnets keep your paper and stencils in place without tape!  So much easier when you want to layer or change out your stencils on a project.

I used a variety of Distress Oxide Inks for my scenes.  A combination of Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass is my favorite for sky and clouds.

Just to give you an idea of my process, this is my desk as I was working with this stencil.  I just had fun experimenting with color combos and different ways of angling the stencil.

You can just create the scenes on panels of white card stock and then add in your favorite sentiment later.

Here’s one I did where I added a sentiment from Hero Arts’ Remember along the bottom with vellum.

I love that you can make a bunch of different scenes with this stencil, then just pop them on to a card base when you need a quick card.  So easy and fun!  Thanks so much for joining me today!
