Certain occasions sometimes call for a more formal style thank you card.  For today’s project, I’m stepping a little bit out of my clean and simple comfort zone using lots of shimmery layers and flourishes.

To start, I created a top folding card using some light blue card stock.  I adhered a panel of vellum that I embossed using the Xcut Butterfly Meadow embossing folder over the top.

To create a frame around the vellum, I cut some ½” strips of metallic shimmer cardstock and adhered them with Scor-Tape.

To camouflage the seams of the frame strips, I added some die cuts from the Sizzix Envelope Corners  set.  I love the way they look with the shimmer card stock.

To create a “floating” sentiment over the embossed vellum, I used the Sizzix Thank You die and cut tiny pieces of foam squares to fit on the back.  Nonstick scissors like these Cutter Bee’s are great for this.

Lots of texture and shimmer make this a perfect card for a special thank you.  Thanks so much for joining me today!
