Stamping backgrounds can sometimes be difficult especially when trying to keep your images even and lined up straight.  For today’s project, I got some help lining up a rainbow background using the We R Memory Keepers Precision Press Advanced Pattern Block.

I used the dash lined stamp that comes with the block along with the Precision Press Advanced and a variety of Memento Dew Drop colors.

Before stamping, I used some masking paper I cut in ½ in. strips using my trimmer to create some white space along the edges of my card.

Then, I simply stamped the block down the card switching out colors to create a rainbow look.  The block fits into the pegs of the Precision Press to make stamping straight super easy.

For the butterfly, I heat embossed a stamp from Avery Elle’s Butterflies set using Versafine Onyx Black ink along with some clear embossing powder.  I added color using Wink of Stella Violet, Orange and Blue.  They add a watercolor-type look with shimmer that is really pretty.

I die cut a couple of circles from the Sizzix Circle Sentiments stamp and die set for the butterfly to sit on. I blended some Distress Oxide ink in Salty Ocean over the scalloped circle for some contrast.

I added a sentiment to the inside from the Simply Said You set from Avery Elle along with some little butterflies.

I love how quick and easy it was to make my rainbow background.  You could easily use this tool to stamp many backgrounds at once and always have a card on hand.  Just add a focal point stamp and you’re ready to go!
