This Mosaic Kite Craft is super fun to make and takes minimal effort to prepare for the parent! Kids will match up the colors, creating a beautiful, colorful mosaic-like kite.

You’ll need:

Step one:

Start by cutting the colored cardstock into small, irregular pieces (approximately .5″ x .5″ or smaller). This step can be done in advance by the parent.

Step two:

Now, using the corresponding colored permanent markers draw a large kite divided into three sections. Add a string.

Step three:

For this last (and most fun!) step, let the child glue on the cut-up pieces of the cardstock onto the right spot on the kite, creating a mosaic look.

Isn’t this fun? It’s great for many important areas of a child’s development too – like fine motor, hand-eye coordination and cognitive skills. Picking up the small pieces of paper, matching them up and gluing exercises and improves all of them!
