Bright flowers and a cheerful note are always nice to receive when you’re feeling under the weather.  Today’s project includes sunny colors and a fun way to create a “container” for your flowers.

I first heat embossed the main flower cluster from Avery Elle’s Spring Bouquet using Versafine Onyx black ink and clear embossing powder onto an A2 size white notecard.

To create the “container” for my flowers, I embossed a piece of white cardstock using Sizzix’ Woven embossing folder and a circle die to trim it out.  I kept the top of the circle over the edge of the cardstock panel to create the flat top of the container.

Using various colors of Zig Clean Color brush pens, I filled in the flowers blending the darker colors into the light.

I adhered the woven container to the front of the card using foam tape and added some strips of Echo Park’s Dots and Stripes Gingham paper to each side.  I stamped a couple of strips using the sentiments that were included with the Spring Bouquet set and added those with foam tape as well.  A few Nuvo drops in Apple Green broke up the orange and yellow for a fun pop of color.

You could try all kinds of embossing folders for your container.  I like the clean tone on tone texture against the white card.  Thanks for joining me today!
