Hi Everyone!  I’m back today with a project I made using a sketch as a jumpstart.  I’ve spoken in a previous post about how I love to use sketches as a starting point, especially if I have a new stamp set that I want to try.

For today’s project, I’m using Avery Elle’s Tea Time stamp set and this sketch to get me started.

Since I’m keeping my design clean and simple, I wanted to create some tone on tone texture in the background.  I ran a white card panel through my Gemini Jr. using the embossing folder that came with it.  I thought the flourish pattern went really well with the tea time theme.

Inspired by beautiful blue tea sets, I heat embossed one of the tea cups from the stamp set using Delicata Sapphire Blue ink along with clear embossing powder and trimmed it out.

I colored and fussy cut some of the flowers out using my Zig Brush Markers.  The flowers were a combination of Yellow and Lemon Yellow and the leaves were a combination of Pale Green and Emerald Green.

I assembled all my components on the front of the embossed panel and popped it up on a white notecard with foam tape.  Here’s a side by side look at the sketch with the finished card.

I use sketches a lot to help me out with my projects.  I have a post HERE showing how I organize these helpful drawings if you’re interested.

Thanks so much for joining me today!
