I have been having a lot of fun experimenting with my Tonic Traditional Layering Heart dies lately. I just love their plump shape and how they fit together so nicely.
One of the things I like to do with nesting dies is create frames, so today I decided to just run the whole stack of heart dies through my Gemini Jr. and see what kind of clean and simple card I could come up with.
Look at all the frames you get! You could repeat this a number of times with different colors of cardstock and have a whole rainbow of options on hand.
For my card, I decided to arrange a few of the bright blue hearts overlapping on the front of a white A2 size notecard. When I was happy with my arrangement, I added some Tombow Aqua glue to secure them down. I trimmed off the excess parts of the hearts that were hanging over the side.
For a pop of color, I stamped another heart I die cut into a pink foam sheet with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used a sentiment from Avery Elle’s And Then stamp set and my Precision Press to ensure I got a crisp impression. I fit this heart into the smaller open heart on the bottom of my card.
After adding another purple foam heart, I took the little limes from the Doodlebug So Punny Food sticker icons and a “pun” from the So Punny Chit Chat set and added those as well. The green, purple and pink make such a cheerful color combo!
On the inside, I added another sentiment from And Then.
A happy card for a happy Valentine’s Day! Thanks for joining me today.
