Valentine’s Day is for couples to show their love and sometimes even an engagement ring. I created this project today using the Sizzix Sparkle die and stamp set from Jen Long. It has a modern style heart with lots of sparkly additions.
I started by heat embossing 5 of the hearts with silver powder on to some thick vellum. I wasn’t sure if I would need them all, but I figured it would be good to have extra.
After heat embossing, I blended Distress Ink in Abandoned Coral, Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry, Candied Apple and Seedless Preserves over the hearts. I used the plain and not the oxide because it dries quickly. I used the corresponding die from the set to cut them out.
Lately, I’ve been positioning my panels in different ways on the fronts of cards just for something different. This time, I have a teal colored panel coming up from the bottom of a white A2 size notecard (I trimmed off the excess). I added some foam tape to pop it up and add some texture.
The sentiment stamp in the set comes with a shadow die cut, so I cut that out with Paper Accents Cardstock in Iridescent White. I added my sentiment offset over the top with foam tape. The holographic glitter adds to the fun sparkle theme of the card!
I ended up just adding two of the hearts to my arrangement on the front panel. I wanted to make room for some of the “sparkle” stamps. I heat embossed these in silver as well and added them around my sentiment using 3D Glue Dots. These are great to use with vellum and you can trim them down as needed to fit.
This card would definitely be great for an engagement, but you could also use it for a friend and of course, a special Valentine. Thanks so much for joining me today!
