Food puns and Valentine’s Day cards go hand in hand in my opinion.  This cute sushi-themed stamp set from Sizzix called Sushi Roll is no exception.

For my card, so I first stamped and colored each of the pieces.  I used various Spectrum Noir markers in greens, corals and greys.

The set came with dies for each of the little sushi pieces so it made it super easy to cut everything at once in my Gemini Jr.

I wanted to create the look of sushi presented on a bamboo tray or mat on a table, so on a white, A2 size notecard, I adhered a large circle die cut from the Pebbles’ Forever My Always 6×6 paper pad.   I left part of it hanging off the edge and trimmed it off to act as a grounding piece.  I then adhered a strip of burlap paper for the “bamboo” over the bottom edge.

I arranged all the little sushi pieces on the burlap, popping some up with foam squares.  I also die cut the sentiment from the set and added that with foam tape to the top of the circle.

A perfect little greeting for Valentine’s day or any time!  Thanks so much for joining me today.
