For today’s project, I’m keeping it clean and simple again with a quick and easy Christmas card using this adorable set from Sizzix called Candy Cane Wishes.
After stamping the main sentiment at an angle onto a white card panel using Versafine Onyx ink, I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then added a portion of the little gift die to the top and bottom that I cut using some paper from the Santa’s Workshop 6×6 paper pad. I trimmed about ¼” off on each side since I would be adding it to a notecard later.
I stamped 2 of the cute little trees using Distress Oxide ink in Lucky Clover and heat embossed those with clear embossing powder.
After cutting them out, I added those to the sides of my sentiment gift using foam tape and finished with a couple of the stars I die cut with yellow cardstock. I made sure that the trees both were touching the sentiment gift making a perfect little cluster of elements. This keeps everything “grounded” and pleasing to the eye. I adhered the entire panel to a notecard made with woodgrain cardstock. This gives a nice tone on tone look with lots of white, but adds some contrast with the woodgrain texture.
I could see giving this card to someone with one of those fun mason jars of hot cocoa mix or another delicious winter treat.
Thanks so much for joining me today. Hope you’re enjoying your holiday crafting!
