Create some fun, furry fellows to decorate your fall home with this easy tutorial.

Here’s what you’ll need to make your own:

To begin, use your hot glue to attach a 1-inch wood ball to the top of a spool.

Cut a small beard from the fake fur–make the top rounded in a “u” shape that will fit up around the ball head, and tapers down to a point at the bottom.  Fake fur is directional in the way that it lays, so be sure to cut the beard so the fur pointing down.

Glue the beard onto the bead head, leaving just enough room to attach the acorn cap onto the top of the bead for a hat  If desired, glue a small strip of fake fur along the back of the head in the back as hair to cover the ball.

Glue an acorn cap on top of the head as a hat, so it sits right on top of the beard, and hair.

Choose a bead for a nose, and glue nestled down into the beard, just below the cap, positioning the holes in the bead so they’re on the sides, and hidden in the hair of the beard.  Tack the beard lightly over the holes with a tiny bit of hot glue, as needed, to help hide them.

Try varying the shape, size, and color of the beards, as well as the sizes of the noses, to create gnomes with different personalities.

Happy crafting!
