As the weather cools, I definitely have flavored coffee on my mind.  This always puts me in the mood to make cards with all the cute “coffee-themed” products that are out there.  For my project today, I’m taking the Sizzix Impresslits Pumpkin Spice Thanks A Latte set and adding some extra touches with a white gel pen.

To start, I embossed a white notecard with the folder and did the same with a 4 ¼ x 5 ½ kraft-colored cardstock panel.

I used my white gel pen to trace the embossed image on the kraft panel being careful not to trace onto the raised parts.

I then trimmed about ½” off each side of the panel and adhered it to the white notecard with foam tape.  I wanted to still be able to see some of the embossing from the card peeking out.

After die cutting the coffee cup, I traced the cup sleeve onto some yellow cardstock in order to back the “thanks a latte” sentiment.

I adhered the sleeve onto the cup with some foam squares, then adhered the sentiment with a Zig 2-Way glue pen.

To cover up the inside of the card where the embossing shows through, I added a sheet of patterned paper from Avery Elle ‘s Everyday paper pad.

I’m a huge fan of dry embossing.  It’s such a great effect when you make that imprint into the paper.  The white pen elevates it just a little and is great for the “steam effect” look surrounding the coffee.  You could try this with any embossing folder you have at home.  Darker paper definitely works best.  Thanks for joining me today!
