Welcome fall to your home with this easy, and cute pumpkin decoration.
Here’s what you’ll need to make your own:
- Pepperell Craft Rope Jute 1/4″ 25ft
- Darice 3-Ply Jute Cord 98 yd. Natural
- PA Essentials Chenille Stems 6 mm x 12 in. Light Beige 25 pc
- PA Essentials Chenille Stems 3 mm x 12 in. White 25 pc.
- A stick for a stem
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Paper tube
To begin, wind 4-6 loops of rope onto the tube.
Cut a length of jute cord, and slide it under the loops, tie it in a knot, and tightly draw the loops together. Knot again to hold.
Slide the bundle off the tube.
Make 5-7 bundles, depending on how full you want your pumpkin to be. I made 5, because I wanted a loopier pumpkin.
Take a chenille stem, and thread all of the loops onto the stem, keeping the tied parts on the same side. Draw the bundles tightly together, and twist the chenille stem together to hold them together.
Gently spread apart the loops into a circle to form a pumpkin shape.
If desired, cut another length of rope, and wrap around the middle of the pumpkin to hide the chenille stems–glue to secure.
Cut a small length of stick.
Poke the stick into the center of the pumpkin, gluing to secure.
Coil the skinny, white chenille stems around a pencil to make tendrils for your pumpkin.
Tuck the tendrils in around the stem, gluing to secure.
Now display your cute little pumpkin, or make some more and make a whole pumpkin patch!
