Are you looking for something other than the normal size card to make? This is just what you are looking for to bring more fun to your card making! This Twisted Gatefold technique gives a whole new look to a card and it’s easy to make.
Begin by scoring an 11 ¼” x 5 ¼” piece of cardstock at 3 ¾” and 7 ½”.
Place the paper diagnolly as shown in the picture on your scoring board and line the top left corner up with one of the grooves. Line the bottom of the first score line created in the step above up with the same groove. You can use a ruler to help you do this. Score along that path.
Now, move the cardstock over and line up the top of the second score line (the one at the 7 ½” mark) and score down to the bottom right corner of the card as shown.
Fold along all of the score lines making sure they are crisp, clean folds and lay this piece aside.
Attach those to the outside of the base as shown using a tape runner.
Open the base up and cut one layer that measure 3 ¾” x 5 and another that measures 3 ½” x 4 ¾” and attach those to the card. This will be the area for you to place your sentiment on.
Die cut two circles from patterned paper (Dots & Stripes Autumn Gold shown) and attach two of the sayings from the Fashionista sticker sheet to them using a 3-d adhesive. Also, die cut two fans and attach them to the card base with a glue pen.
The next time you want a fun, new look for a card just pull out this this tutorial and start creating. It’s perfect for basic every day cards and those really special occasions. It can be used for any idea and theme so be sure to keep it handy for those cards that you need to make any time of year.
