Valentine’s Day will be here soon and it’s time to start planning and creating those special cards for the loved ones on your list. Send the love this year with this special little card with a big heart.
This is a 4” x 6” card that has been scored so that it will open at the top. To create this base, cut a 4” x 12” wide piece of cardstock and place it on a scoring board and score it at the 6” mark. Fold it on the score line and sit it so that the fold is at the top.
Now, cut 2 pieces of cardstock (white cardstock is shown here) and a piece of your favorite patterned paper to match the theme of the card. The largest piece of cardstock will measure 3 ¾” x 5 ¾” and the smaller piece will measure 3 ¼” x 5 ¼”. The patterned paper should be cut to a size of 3 ½” x 5 ½”. Layer each one on top of the other adhering them together with a tape runner. Then, attach them to the card base.
Stamp the image onto a piece of scrap cardstock in black ink. This stamp is the From the Heart stamp by Docrafts.
Color the stamp with your favorite colored pencils or markers and then fussy cut it out with a pair of scissors.
Use some pieces of 3-d adhesive to attach it to the card base and pop it out from the front of the card.
Create several small hearts using a heart die and die cutting machine or a heart punch. Score one of the hearts and fold it in half. Also, create a larger heart.
Take the larger heart and place a line of wet glue or use a glue pen around the edges of it. Outline the heart using a piece of twine. Lay it aside and allow it to dry.
Stamp the “love” sentiment in the corner of the card and a second sentiment on the inside.
Add the large heart which should now be dry to the front of the card with the tape runner to finish it.
This sweet little card sends lots of love and hearts when you share it with those special ones on your Valentine’s Day list. Remember to share the love throughout the year, too, and this card is the perfect way to do just that. Whether it be this Valentine’s Day or any time of the year be sure to let the love be in the mail!
